What brought you into SPENGA Ann Arbor? 


Chelsea: The way that the classes are structured. I wanted to incorporate cardio, lifting, and yoga into my daily workouts. Spenga is a great way to fit it all in within one hour at one location!

Emileen: I had driven past Spenga for a while and always wondered if I would like it. I decided to take a chance and I am so happy that I did! It incorporates all my favorite workouts- spin, strength, and yoga. I also love that I just need to get myself to class and everything else is already planned for me. Coming from college athletics, I thrive in an environment where you get pushed by your instructor and the class setup and I love that I get everything I need for a workout in one hour. I regret not joining sooner!


Why do you love working out with your bestie? 


Chelsea: I LOVE working out with my bestie. She holds me accountable and helps to push me to reach my goals. We both love to workout, so it is very fun to have someone to enjoy classes with. It makes coming to class that much more fun. 


Emileen: She pushes me and holds me accountable! On the days where I might not have the most energy, she gets me there and then I feel so much better! Having someone to workout with and attend classes with is something I really need and she's the perfect workout bestie. She is so motivating!!


What are you most proud of accomplishing? 


Chelsea: We just hit 100 classes together and celebrated on the same day!  


Emileen: I am most proud of hitting 100 classes at the same time with my bestie and also  working out consistently each week before and during my pregnancy (currently 8 months)


What is your favorite music to listen to while working out? 


Chelsea: When we are in RIDE or REP, I like to listen to songs with a great beat. In REVIVE, I like how the music slows down to match what we are doing. It helps force me to slow down and relax. 


Emileen: I love listening to high tempo songs or mixes during the more intense parts of class (spin & strength) and then I love the meditation type of music during Revive. I also love some good throwbacks or classic hits mixed into my playlist!


RIDE, REP, OR REVIVE? REVIVE! 


Chelsea: I never give myself permission to REVIVE, so I really like that it is part of the class format. It forces me to REVIVE before I go on with my day. 


Emileen: Do I have to decide?! I love them all for different reasons! I do love Ride since it's great cardio that you can keep up with every day and not feel the wear and tear on your body from it. However, coming from someone that doesn't allow herself to stretch, listen to my body, cool down or unwind, Revive allows me to feel completely rejuvenated by the time class ends. 


What is something you would tell someone who is thinking about coming to SPENGA?


Chelsea: Go for it! I am so happy that I tried it. The staff is very kind and will help you to get acclimated. 


Emileen: Do it. Don't hesitate. Spenga has the best staff that really look out for you and any need you might have, the atmosphere is fun and welcoming and you are guaranteed to get a great workout every time you go!
